Yang Tai Chi Short Form Workshop

Saturday, September 28, 1:00-4:00 PM

Cost:  $75

Prerequisite:  previous experience with tai chi/qigong

This workshop will be held once every quarter.  It's a deeper dive for existing students who are learning or have learned the Yang Tai Chi Short Form.  We'll go into subtle technical details and energetic qualities.

But it's also great for students new to the school, wishing for some instant immersion and a big head start on the Zoom classes!  (For those of you who are totally new to tai chi and qigong, please dip your toes into the pool with our Qigong Wellness classes.)

The workshop will be held in person at our location in Watertown Square, and will NOT be streamed online or recorded.

Qigong Labs: Build Your Own Qigong Power Sequence

Sunday, November 10, 11:30 AM—1:00 PM

Sunday, November 17, 11:30 AM—1:00 PM

Cost:  $75

Prerequisite:  previous experience with martial arts or tai chi (not just qigong!)

This advanced workshop will give you the blueprint for creating a qigong sequence that is tailored to your body, your needs, and your energy!

In the first session, I will show you what I call a "qigong power sequence" that I created for myself.  We will then discuss the elements that go into making a good qigong power sequence.  In the second session, you'll be showing us what you designed!

This workshop will be conducted on Zoom.  The recordings will be supplied after each session for workshop participants only.

If you have any questions about the suitability of this workshop for you, please email me.

The Rhythm of Balance

Sunday, December 8, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Cost:  $75

Prerequisite:  none

Balance is a dynamic activity, a moving state.  It is not, in music parlance, just "sticking the downbeat."

This unique workshop brings in elements of music and rhythm to stimulate your brain and nervous system.  Through the experience of feeling and embodying music — not just hearing it — you'll walk away with a refined and different awareness of your body, gait, and balance.

The workshop will be held in person at the Watertown Center for Healing Arts, 22 Mt. Auburn St. (Skylight Studio), and will NOT be streamed online or recorded.

The Qi of Indian Clubs

Sunday, December 8, 1:00-4:00 PM

Cost:  $75

Prerequisite:  purchase a pair of Indian clubs

Swinging the arms is a big part of qigong, but swinging Indian clubs takes it to another level.

This introductory workshop will cover the fundamental principles of Indian clubs, and you will learn several basic swinging patterns.  But beyond that you'll discover the deeper energetic qualities of Indian clubs, and why they're more than just a "workout" or rehabiliation tool.

The workshop will be held in person at the Watertown Center for Healing Arts, 22 Mt. Auburn St. (Skylight Studio), and will NOT be streamed online or recorded.

You will need to purchase a pair of Indian clubs and bring them with you.  Please email us for recommendations on which clubs to buy.
